I'm gonna keep drinking till I sober up
I'll keep on taking till I get enough
I'll do as I please so don't you try and save me
I'll keep on laughing till I get the joke
I'm gonna swallow my pride until I choke
I'll do as I please so don't you try and save me
It ain't worth your time
I'll plant my feet right in the dirt
I'll grit my teeth until it hurts
I'll do as I please so don't you try and save me
I'm gonna paint my name across the sky
I'll stake my claim on what is mine
I'll do as I please so don't you try and save me
I've already tried
I'll keep on running till I can hide
I'm gonna tie it all up until I come undone
I'll do as I please so don't you try and save me

This is a wonderful album. It is personal, senitive, and caring. I love to here Sturgill sing, and wish had found him earlier. I thsnk wnku for playing local artists. I lived in Jackson Ky. And know how sad the drugs have made so many hometowns. Keep singing you are great. carolfaulkner

The best I've heard from Steve Earle in a while. The songs have a subtler, earthier tone, tastefully rendered in authentic sounding country/blues/bluegrass stylings. 'J.T' reminds of earlier records like 'Feel Alright' or 'Train a Comin'.
Deep grief, love and compassion is felt on the final track, the only composition from Steve, seemingly written for his son. The rest, composed by JT, do confirm what a great songwriter he really was. tideracer
A slow drip of Tropicália-infused psychedelia from New Orleans rock outfit Blue Basin: balmy one moment, aggressive the next. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 22, 2022
Combining crooned murder ballads with raw, angsty hard rock hooks, Melbourne's The Ugly Kings are a wrecking crew well worth watching. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
