lyrics
Wide eyes white lines
On down the road I slide
God willin' and the creek don't rise
I won't be home tonight
Hey don't that breeze feel nice
Don't tell em where I'm goin'
I'm just gone
Tell your mama you ain't comin home
Told your papa you ain't comin home
Hey throw your dog a bone
Don't tell em where you're going
You're just gone
You're flying high babe
You got to get low down
I'll pick you up mama
Sit your feet back on the ground
Hey babe
Can't you hear that sound
We didn't tell em where we were going
We were just gone
This is a wonderful album. It is personal, senitive, and caring. I love to here Sturgill sing, and wish had found him earlier. I thsnk wnku for playing local artists. I lived in Jackson Ky. And know how sad the drugs have made so many hometowns. Keep singing you are great. carolfaulkner
The best I've heard from Steve Earle in a while. The songs have a subtler, earthier tone, tastefully rendered in authentic sounding country/blues/bluegrass stylings. 'J.T' reminds of earlier records like 'Feel Alright' or 'Train a Comin'.
Deep grief, love and compassion is felt on the final track, the only composition from Steve, seemingly written for his son. The rest, composed by JT, do confirm what a great songwriter he really was. tideracer
A slow drip of Tropicália-infused psychedelia from New Orleans rock outfit Blue Basin: balmy one moment, aggressive the next. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 22, 2022
Combining crooned murder ballads with raw, angsty hard rock hooks, Melbourne's The Ugly Kings are a wrecking crew well worth watching. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
