lyrics
Well ain't it hard sometimes
To untangle your mind
Don't you need something to help you unwind
Well I am here my friend and I will lend you a hand
Don't you know that I'm the only one who really understands
So I'll welcome you in and you confess all your sins
Sure enough you'll be back and we'll do it again
Then finally you sigh, say everything is alright
Don't you know that you're the only one keepin you up at night
I put you in your place
You put me in mine
It's easy to lose sight with your head so high
Don't ask for pity when you get right back in line
This is a wonderful album. It is personal, senitive, and caring. I love to here Sturgill sing, and wish had found him earlier. I thsnk wnku for playing local artists. I lived in Jackson Ky. And know how sad the drugs have made so many hometowns. Keep singing you are great. carolfaulkner
The best I've heard from Steve Earle in a while. The songs have a subtler, earthier tone, tastefully rendered in authentic sounding country/blues/bluegrass stylings. 'J.T' reminds of earlier records like 'Feel Alright' or 'Train a Comin'.
Deep grief, love and compassion is felt on the final track, the only composition from Steve, seemingly written for his son. The rest, composed by JT, do confirm what a great songwriter he really was. tideracer
A slow drip of Tropicália-infused psychedelia from New Orleans rock outfit Blue Basin: balmy one moment, aggressive the next. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 22, 2022
Combining crooned murder ballads with raw, angsty hard rock hooks, Melbourne's The Ugly Kings are a wrecking crew well worth watching. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
